The RP27 has been part of TLM’s story 
for more than 25 years. It began in 
1999, when an automotive customer 
approached the company with a problem. 
They needed to produce large diameter 
parts with very long threads, and the 
machines available at the time were not 
delivering the consistency they required. 
It was a demanding application, and it 
called for a different approach.
TLM developed the first RP27 with a clear 
purpose. The focus was on strength, 
stability, and precision, ensuring the 
machine could handle the stresses 
of the job while maintaining reliable 
quality. Once installed, it proved its 
value, and over time the RP27 became a 
trusted solution not only in automotive 
production, but also in structural 
construction and railway applications.
Like many machines that stay in 
production for years, the RP27 has 
evolved gradually. Improvements have 
often come from listening to the people 
who use it every day. Adjustments have 
been made easier, setup more intuitive, 
and automation options introduced to 
support more efficient workflows. Each 
change has been part of an ongoing 
process of refinement rather  
than reinvention.
Although it is a large and powerful 
machine, practical details have always 
mattered. Accessibility for operators, 
careful assembly, and the choice of 
reliable components all contribute to its 
day to day performance. These are not 
always the most visible aspects, but they 
are often the ones that make the biggest 
difference over time.
Today, the RP27 continues to be built with 
the same mindset that inspired the first 
version. It reflects TLM’s experience, its 
attention to detail, and its commitment 
to supporting customers facing complex 
production challenges. For TLM, it is not 
just about building machines, but about 
building solutions that last.
