This transformation forms part of the
wider trend towards the digitalisation
of industry. Technologies associated
with the ‘Industrial Internet of Things’
now make it possible to collect data
throughout the entire production
process, improving traceability and
providing useful information for quality
control, maintenance and production
optimisation. Fastening, traditionally
regarded as a simple assembly stage,
thus becomes a source of data and an
active element in process management.
Looking to the near future, the
direction seems clear: the integration
of automation, digitalisation and
data analysis is set to grow and
become established as a key factor in
competitiveness. Tools such as artificial
intelligence will also help to interpret the
information gathered from production
lines, supporting process monitoring
and the detection of anomalies. Rather
than a technological revolution, this
represents the natural evolution of a
sector that views fastening not merely
as a technical operation, but as an
increasingly strategic process for quality,
efficiency and competitiveness within the
manufacturing sector.
